First Visit

We look forward to meeting you on your first visit to our office. During this time, we will help you get acquainted with our office. In addition, we hope to begin to get to know you and learn about your chief concerns and your goals for orthodontic treatment. Our initial visit is free because Dr. Martinez does not want to set up any barriers to you exploring your orthodontic treatment options. Even if you are not sure if orthodontics is right for you or if this is the best time, Dr. Martinez welcomes the opportunity to show you what is possible and what is involved so you can make an informed decision.

Our goal is to provide you with as much information as possible during this first visit. Therefore photographs and X-rays of the teeth and face are taken at no charge in order to fully examine the teeth, face, dental and skeletal structures. After Dr. Martinez’s clinical examination and a review of the photos and X-rays, we can usually provide you detailed treatment options including optimal timing, length of time involved, costs, payment options, and insurance considerations. By the end of this first appointment, you should have comprehensive information about your treatment options.

Certain patients with particularly difficult problems and/or patients who require coordination of care among several dental specialists will require a separate consultation appointment before a treatment plan is finalized.

Finally, Dr. Martinez will certainly inform you if treatment is not indicated or if it would be more efficient to wait until a later time (for example waiting for all the baby teeth to fall out if jaw growth is within normal limits).
