Dr. M's Continuing Education

Dr. Martinez works very hard to stay at the leading edge of orthodontic advances in order to provide his patients with the latest and best treatment options available. Below is a list of the continuing education Dr. Martinez has taken in the last couple of years. While the Ohio State Dental Board mandates 20 hours of continuing education each year, Dr. Martinez usually exceeds 100 hours per year!

2007:

Total CE (continuing education) hours as of 3-10-07= 46.5 hours CE for speaking/lecture/supervised instruction plus approximately 12 hours for unsupervised instruction = 58.5 Total CE so far in 2007.

Speaking engagements:

February 12, 2007: Dr. Martinez presented information to members of the Cincinnati Dental Society at their annual “Dining and Dataistry” Forum. (1.5hrs CE)

Dr. Martinez reads the 3 major orthodontic journals each month (American Journal of Orthodontics, Angle Orthodontist, and Journal of Clinical Orthodontics) as well as several trade journals. These activities generally take about 3-5 hours per month.

2006:

Total CE = 125 speaking/lecture/supervised plus approximately 40 hours unsupervised (low estimate) for a total of 165 hours for 2006.

January 24, 2006. Dr. Martinez was a co-presenter on the subject of Invisalign at the Western Hills Study Club Meeting.

February 22, 2006. Dr. Martinez gave one of the presentations at the Progressive Study Club in Florida (see below)

March 27, 2006. Dr. Martinez gave a presentation on the latest orthodontic advances at the Western Hills Interdisciplinary Study Club. (see below)

September 5, 2006. Dr. Martinez was the guest speaker at the Greater Cincinnati Dental Study Club. He gave a 1-hour presentation on the latest advances in orthodontics. (1hr CE)
