ProSeal is a state-of-the-art protective sealant with “armor-like” strength, that Dr. Martinez willl coat over your teeth before he places your braces. Because many of our younger patients struggle with brushing and flossing during treatment, ProSeal can help significantly reduce the potential for teeth staining and cavities, that tend to arise during treatment. It’s still more important than ever to care for your teeth during treatment by brushing at least twice a day and using floss or threaders at least once a day.
In a 2005 study by Hu and Featherstone published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, this sealant was shown to significantly reduce tooth enamel damage more than fluoride treatment alone.
